Pozo del Peral

Inthe vicinity of the village we find an environment where the village girls used to get together to wash clothes amidst chatter, laughter and a drop of sweat.

It is the prelude to what we will see later in the Venero… a lot of piles to wash, a lot of doubles…

The well is reputed to provide plenty of water.

The wholeis formed by the well and a series of piles of different shapes that are arranged around it.

The well has a curbstone made of four large stones joined together by old iron staples. The water is always very close, as this vein fills up quickly.

The wash basins are most curious. There are different shapes, for one and for two people. Some of them would probably be designed to wash a specific type of garment, blanket or fabric.
